This week on the B&B Audioconcepts blog we have the legendary performance saloon BMW M5 but before we get to that lets start of with the B&B Audioconcepts Car Audio Quiz. This legendary performance saloon BMW M5 came in for some very high tech security and safety upgrades and for 13.3 Inch rear seat WIFI touchscreen tablets. The high tech security and safety features the team upgraded include the most advanced laser speed trap protection-technology for the BMW M5, called Laser Track Flare. Another driver aid installed is the Target Blu Eye device, this gadget gives you real-time warning for approaching emergency vehicles with a kilometre radius, very impressive. Adding to this plethora of technology is a Thinkware U1000 which features a 4K UHD front-facing camera and an optional 2K QHD rear-facing camera which includes a complete speed camera database. Finally on the tech front to secure against relay attack and key cloning the B&B Audioconcepts team installed a Meta S5 Deadlock system which immobilises and tracks the BMW M5.

The Rear seat entertainment is set off with a pair of 13.3 Inch FHD WIFI enabled touchscreen tablets powered by Android 9.0. The mounting bracket was custom made by B&B Audioconcepts and whilst a bit tricky to fit was worth the outcome. These 13.3 Inch screens have full access to Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix and all other entertainment services. A bonus feature of these 13.3 Inch screens is they have 7 different LED light options to chose from to match your vehicle interior and in the case of the BMW M5 watch the video below to see if we found the perfect matching LED.

13.3 Inch Rear Screens Special Features

The scheme is created based on 64 bit RockChip3368 Android 9.0 chip, Cortex A53 1.8GHz Octa-core CPU, Android 9.0 operating system, which supports
Android Mobile Phones and iPhone Wireless Miracast/Airplay, built-in 2GB DDR4 and 16GB memory. It processes powerful multimedia audio and video processing capabilities, supports 4K ultra high definition video playback, built-in graphic processing unit, and capacitive touch screen. The scheme uses high-performance Wi-Fi. Core board external interface has USB, TF, HDMI and earphone, with strong extensibility and a slim design, which is able to meet the demands of various car systems.

Meta Trak S5 Deadlock

The Meta Deadlock is more than your normal tracking system, it uses the ADR tag to turn off / disarm the immobilser. So for example rather than having 2 different devices such as a tracker then having another immobiliser system installed the Meta system offers both these things in one product. The Metatrak Deadlock is a full anti clone and anti scan immobiliser and tracking system all built into one. When your walking up to the vehicle the immobiliser module and the Metatrak tracking module is looking for the ADR tag to come into the vehicles interior range. If no Tag is detected and the ignition is turned on the tracker will trigger an alert to the Meta head office and in turn they will phone you why the vehicles ignition has been turned on without a tag present ( attempted theft ). The vehicle will also remain immobilised throughout this stage.

If you house is broken into for the vehicles keys and tag you can remotely immobilise your vehicle from starting from the Smartphone app. Meaning you can stop your vehicle from starting no matter if a thief has the keys and tag. You can also add a geo fence to put a virtual garage around the area your vehicle is parked. Meaning even if someone had the Meta tag and original vehicles keys the system will alert you that the vehicle has been moved.

Target Blu Eye – What is it?

Target Blu Eye is based on TETRA technology, in the UK it is known as the Airwave Network which is widely used for the communication between different emergency/Police vehicles. Target Blu Eye is able to warn you in advance of approaching emergency services, such as Police cars – both marked and unmarked, Police motorbikes, fire engines and ambulances.

Target Blu Eye explained

Target Blu Eye is an in-vehicle device that informs you when there is an emergency vehicle close by – often long before you hearing it approaching emergency/Police vehicle when the sirens are being used.

Using TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio)technology, the Blu Eye alerts the driver there is an emergency vehicle in the area such as Police cars, Police vans, Police bikes, fire engines, ambulances, etc. This is thanks to fact that all emergency/Police vehicles in the UK use TETRA radios as standard. The Target Blu Eye will also warn to both marked and unmarked Police vehicles.

The Target Blu Eye will alert you via a ‘control panel’ installed on your vehicles front console, dashboard, windscreen, etc when there is an emergency vehicle within a kilometre radius, whether they are using their sirens or not. The Target Blue Eye promotes a safer driving attitude and ensures you will not need to make any dangerous maneuvers when an emergency vehicle is nearby.

On screen visual and audible tone alerts you to the type of vehicle within 1km of your vehicle. You can then move safely out of the way knowing you are not obstructing an emergency vehicle. There are two sensitivity modes, these are Highway and City mode.

Highway mode has the longest detection range which is ideal when travelling at high speed on a motorway for example.

City mode reduces the range of detection and is recommended for use of the Target Blu Eye in urban areas. The maximum range is approximately 1 kilometre.

Using this device will improve the safety of your driving in relation to emergency vehicles.

Target Blu Eye Completely Legal

Target Blu Eye is completely legal to use in the as it simple tells you when there is an emergency vehicle close by. It cannot differentiate between police cars, ambulances and fire engines so you will only know there is an emergency vehicle approaching and you will not know the type of vehicle.
