Land Rover Defender Multimedia and Audio with S5 Tracker
This work horse Land Rover Defender dropped in for one of the best multimedia units on the market, the Alpine Halo. The customer opted for the 9 inch version which gave wireless Apple Carplay connectivity, full features are listed below. To further compliment the Alpine Halo the Audioconcepts team installed Focal tweeters and mids along with a Phoenix Gold subwoofer.
Lastly the most important feature the customer of this Land Rover Defender requested was two rear Pioneer cameras, the first camera allows the customer to view what they are towing and the second camera the Audioconcepts teams added to the tow hitch so the customer has full view when reversing with a trailer.

Alpine Halo9 : Android Auto and CarPlay are big and brilliant
The HALO9 has a beautiful 9-inch WVGA touchscreen which only uses an adjustable mount attached to a 1-DIN chassis for installation. The default position has the screen’s sliding mount pushed out with it sitting at a 90-degree angle. The bottom of the screen is then centered with the 1-DIN chassis. The screen hovers over or in front of the dash and consumers have the option to position it 20mm deep and up to 30mm higher (or lower) than the default position. The hovering position gives the deck a clean and modern silhouette. The screen can be tilted between four pre-set angle points (45º, 20º, 0º, -20º).
ENTERTAINMENT
The HALO9 comes equipped with Apple Car Play and Android Auto for seamless, hands-free incorporation of the most popular mobile phone technologies. The deck also has an HD Radio tuner built-in. Maps, music, messages, and phone calls are controlled from and displayed on the HALO9’s touchscreen.
The system is also compatible with Bluetooth technology for audio streaming and hands-free calling features. A USB port is included with the HALO9’s cable bundle for connected video or audio playback, an AUX input, and HDMI input. The HAL09 has a mech-less design, which means that there is no CD/DVD slot, but one can be added with a player that is sold separately.
In addition to the standard Apple Car Play and Android Auto apps, there are a few popular apps such as Waze, Spotify, and Amazon Music that are accessible through the Alpine Unit. You have the ability to customize the shortcuts that appear on your touchscreen so that you can have your most popular audio sources and phone settings available at a simple touch.

The ES 100 K is an ultra-compact solution with an impressive SPL of 90dB (2.83 V/1 m) for such a small design.
It is composed of two 4″ (100mm) speaker drivers with Kevlar® cones. The famous yellow cones of the K2 Power line are light, rigid and have excellent damping to provide dynamic sound with incredible definition. The centre of the cone is equipped with a phase plug for improved sound dispersion around the vehicle.
The high frequencies are faithfully reproduced by two 025/32” (20mm) TKM tweeters. Composed of aramid fibres, these inverted dome tweeters have an exclusive ‘M’-shaped profile to control deformation and to reduce distortion. The new-generation tweeters feature very compact crossovers which are easy to install. Various accessories are supplied for assembling the tweeters, which can be installed in the factory locations, on tilting frames or flush-mounted.
The size of each component of this kit has been optimised to offer a very compact solution which can be adapted for all kinds of set-ups in all kinds of vehicles.
Phoenix Gold Subwoofer
The new Z880 is an 8″ ultra-compact, fully aluminium active subwoofer from Phoenix Gold. This subwoofer has been optimised to fit into almost any small space in the vehicle including under seats or limited boots. The powerful MOSFET amplifier delivers 80Watt RMS and up to 240W Max.

This high-quality, NTSC universal camera displays a mirror-image on your tuner’s screen, giving you a full view of everything the rear-view mirror fails to show.
The high-sensitivity camera has a 129° wide viewing angle. The embedded CMOS sensor automatically adjusts brightness in light or dark driving conditions. With a resolution of 310,000 pixels, the sensor is as accurate as it is sensitive. The camera even eliminates over-exposed images by removing the white streaks as direct sunlight enters the lens.
