Honda Civic Type R Audio System Upgrade
This fast Aegean Blue Metallic aggressive looking Honda Civic Type R sped in (pardon the pun) for a complete makeover to the sound system. As we have said, fast car and very light weight, which unfortunately means the factory Honda Type R audio system is also very light weight in sound reproduction. The owner enjoys his Honda Type R very much but misses the depth and connection to the audio. This is where B&B Audioconcepts bring their expertise and started this audio upgrade with soundproofing the doors to stop the plastic rattles. The Audioconcepts team then added high quality Focal speakers and a small discreet light weight XFIRE subwoofer all powered by an XFIRE amplifier straight to the factory multimedia infotainment sytem to add the missing audio depth. The owner of this Honda Type R is now not only the owner of a fast car but now has the audio output to match his mood, job completed and a very satisfied driver.

Focal K2 Speakers for Honda Civic Type R
The car audio kit ES 165 K is composed of two 6,5″ (165 mm) woofers and two 025/32″ (20mm) TKM tweeters. This is a compact solution that’s easy to install. The K2 Power Kevlar® cones used for the speaker drivers of the ES 165 K component kit deliver extremely dynamic sound and perfect definition. These cones endowed with all the ideal qualities, lightness, rigidity and excellent damping, have also been given the new TMD suspension. Initially developed for Sopra high-fidelity loudspeakers, the exclusive design of the suspension removes unwanted resonances and reduces the effects of distortion.
The two TKM inverted dome tweeters are composed of aramid fibres. Their exclusive “M”-shaped profile is designed to control deformation of the dome, and to perfectly reproduce high frequencies up to 22 kHz smoothly and with precision. Their compact crossovers are quick to install and easy to set up. Various accessories are supplied for assembling the tweeters, which can be installed in the factory locations, on tilting frames or flush-mounted.
The kit is supplied with aluminum and mesh grilles.

The components used for the new K2 Power crossovers were selected specifically and optimised in order to improve control over the effects of heat dissipation. These components, which are fundamental to managing the various channels and for the soundstage, are now even more reliable.

Skinz Soundproofing for Honda Civic Type R
Good car audio begins with properly treated doors and panels.
